The Exchange

The Exchange is a transit-oriented development on a prominent corner of Salt Lake City’s civic mall. Consisting of two buildings on a 2.2-acre site along the TRAX light rail system, the project will house 412 residential units, 14,000 square feet of street-front retail space, and The Shop co-working space.

The development includes an international food hall and marketplace within the retail space that will be run in partnership with the International Rescue Committee’s Spice Kitchen business incubator program.

The energy-efficient apartments will be offered as a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floorplans. Approximately 50% of residences will be affordable to households ranging from 40%-80% of the area median income.

The project is a joint venture with New York-based developer Domain Companies, and was awarded following a competitive RFP process administered by the city. With this project, we aim to show a vision for the fabric of our downtown: thoughtfully designed, transit-oriented, mixed-use, mixed-income development.
