Startup Crossing sits on what was once an empty warehouse and storage yard directly across the street from Provo Station, the city’s train and bus depot. Located next to the historic Startup Candy Company, the building borrows its name from the Startup family who helped shape industry in the neighborhood in the late 1800’s.
The project brings 101 mixed-income apartments to a city that is so in need of affordable housing that the leasing office consistently has a months-long waiting list.
During construction, the development team allowed a local group of artists to use an existing building to create a studio where artists could rent small, affordable spaces. That building continues to house Provo Studio and the art displayed in Startup Crossing was provided by the artists working in that studio.
